Join Gloucester Arts on Main on February 9th, 7pm for a special screening of “Black Harts and Hidden Treasure.”

In celebration of Black History month, Mathews resident and film director, Bronwyn Hughes presents her 2008 documentary “Black Harts and Hidden Treasure.”

This 45 minute 2008 documentary film portrays the twists and turns of the Hart family history, involving true love crossing racial lines, betrayal, and buried treasure. The film’s main character shocks herself when her passionate genealogical journey results in her becoming the first black woman to join the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

Bronwyn will be present at this screening to talk about her experience making the film.
