Mobile Glass Studio

Join the Cook Foundation on Wednesday, August 13th for “Celebrate Art” at the Gloucester Main Street Association’s Summer Nights Market.

The Chrysler Museum’s Mobile Glass Studio will be on site to share the magic of live glassblowing with audiences. The fully functional studio includes a propane-fired crucible and glory hole, an annealing kiln, and talented artists who can explain the wonders of the glassmaking process while putting on a show.

Kids that come will also receive a free pack of chalk. Artists of all ages are invited to participate in a mini “Chalk Fest.” Participants will have the opportunity to create original chalk works in squares reserved in the Carriage Court parking lot.

Stones Throw with guest Lori de los Santos will be the live music for the evening.

The Summer Nights Market is certified farmers’ market and event series that is held weekly on Wednesdays from 4:30-7:00 at the Carriage Court Lawn behind the Gloucester Museum of History (6539 Main Street.) Browse a wide variety of fresh produce, meats, seafood, jams, jellies, arts & crafts, and baked goods.
