Join Gloucester Arts on Main during June for Civil War Month. Kick off events include:

FIRST FRIDAY – CIVIL WAR MONTH – Civil War art will be exhibited this month, starting at the First Friday event on Friday, June 6th from 6:00-9:00pm. Alex Wiatt will be there to talk about his Civil War ancestor Wm. E. Wiatt and to invite you to the next day’s presentation.

Good Shot Judy

Music by Good Shot Judy, a local jazz trio playing some of the brilliant standards written in the past 80 years, along with a few modern day jazz pop influences. Group members include: Brett Cahoon – Piano/Vocals,  Mike Smith – Drums, and  Jeff Cahoon – Bass.

CIVIL WAR PRESENTATION
Saturday June 7, 3:00 – 5:00 PM Alex Wiatt will give a narrative presentation of William E. Wiatt’s Civil War journals.

Alex Wiatt is a family historian whose family has been in Gloucester since October 1655. While doing research about his family he discovered the Civil War Diary of his Great Great Grandfather, Rev. William E. Wiatt. This discovery lead to Alex publishing an annotated copy of Chaplain Wiatt’s Diary. Alex has also published histories for the Wiatt Family and Field Family of Gloucester.
