The High School Prom season is right around the corner. For some, the thought of purchasing a new formal for just one night may seem too extravagant. Families continue to struggle with household expenses during this bad economy.
This will be the fifth year for the “Fary Godmother Program,” run by local seamstress Sarah L. Fary, which helps girls with that special night by receiving their dress for free of charge. The formals will be on display on Saturdays, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, March 22, March 29, April 12, and April 19 at the address below.
All alterations will be done by Sarah and the dry cleaning will be provided by Village Cleaners. Last year 23 formals were given to girls and Sarah is hoping to increase that number this year. Dress donations can be dropped off during normal shop hours: Monday thru Thursday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Help get the word out about this program and make a lifetime memory for a deserving girl!
