Detroit muralist, Louise Chen Jones, has been commissioned by the Cook Foundation to paint a mural on the large side wall of the Silver Box. The theme of the mural will be daffodils to celebrate the beautiful, fragrant blooms’ place in Gloucester’s history.

Louise Jones, also known as Ouizi, specializes in flowers. She depicts flowers in a variety of mediums, though she is best known for her large scale public murals and site specific installations. Her exploration of flora also encompasses a rigorous studio practice, where she produces delicate botanical paintings and sculptural objects. Louise is Chinese American, born and raised in California. She now lives and works in Detroit.

This colorful mural will most certainly add to our already beautiful downtown.
