Sipping, Savoring and Strolling in the Gardens of Brent and Becky’s
GLOUCESTER, Va. – The 6th Annual Gloucester Wine Festival kicks off Saturday, Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the internationally acclaimed gardens of Brent and Becky’s.
“The Wine Festival is a celebration of a growing industry in Virginia, and we are proud to host 12 Virginia Wineries from all over the Commonwealth, right here in Gloucester,” said Gloria Williams, Executive Director of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce
“Winemaking has been a part of Virginian history, dating back to Jamestown, and continues to grow in leaps and bounds, and in varietals and vintages.”
The 6th Annual Gloucester Wine Festival will feature wine tastings, educational seminars, live musical entertainment from SlapNation and The Good Shot Judy “little” BIG Band, plus an assortment of Unique vendors and artisans, as well as fresh local fare.
“Each year, the festival continues to grow and incorporate new ideas and concepts. It remains an incredibly unique and fun opportunity to bring the community together, and appreciate one of Virginia’s finest commodities. Wine!” said Williams. The Gloucester Chamber hosts the wine festival each year.
“This event brings our community together, offering a venue to showcase crafts, art, food, music, wine and a variety of industries.” The festival brings in travelers from all over Virginia. “We encourage our out-of-town guests to stay the night, or make a weekend out of their trip. Embrace Gloucester’s rich history, while enjoying our many retail stores and restaurants. Explore the water by boat, kayak or paddleboard. We hope that they will see something that they like, and come back and visit us again.”
Confirmed wineries this year include the Williamsburg Winery, Vault Field Vineyards, Saude Creek, Naked Mountain Winery, Mattaponi Winery, James River Cellars, Good Luck Cellars, The Dog and Oyster Vineyard, Democracy Vineyard, DelFosse Vineyards and Winery, Belle Mount Vineyards and General’s Ridge.
Va Blue Crab, Juan’ s Mexican Café, Kathi’s Clam Chowder, Spuds Fresh Fries, Creekside Catering Company, Riverwalk Restaurant, Byrd’s Seafood Company, Gourmet Steve, deRochonnet Delights Chocolatier, Generations Cakes, will be on site throughout the festival offering a range of cuisine.
