Open to the Public! Guinea Jubilee Art Entries on view Gloucester Point Library, Monday – Sunday, July 10th -16th & “Meet the Artist” Reception, Gloucester Point Library Sunday, July 16th, 2:00 p.m.

The Guinea Heritage Association and the Guinea Jubilee Committee is extending an invitation to the public to support and meet artists participating in the Guinea Jubilee Print Contest.

All art entries will be displayed at Gloucester Point Library, Gloucester Point, Virginia, from July 1oth –July 16th for the public to view. A “Meet the Artist” reception will feature the 2017 entries and the artists for the Guinea Jubilee Print Contest on Sunday, July 16th at 2 p.m. The artists’ reception is free and open to the public.

“The GHA appreciates our local artists and wishes to share their talents with a celebration reception. We encourage the public to meet the artists, view their art which captures the heart of Guinea, and enjoy some refreshments,” said Leslie Belvin, Guinea Jubilee Art Chairman. Participating artists will be recognized at 2:30 p.m.

On September 10th, the winning artist will be recognized at the “Guinea Heritage Day” unveiling reception at Abingdon Ruritan Club. The winning artist will receive a monetary prize of $750 and the runner up will receive a monetary prize of $100.

The Guinea Jubilee Festival is scheduled for Friday, September 29th from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday, September 30th from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. For further information please contact Leslie Belvin at 804-642-9002.
