The www.hrsolartour.com website is now complete and registration has begun. The regional Hampton Roads Solar Tour is a free, self-guided tour that is happening on Saturday October 3, and Sunday October 4. The Middle Peninsula Solar Tour is the only tour scheduled on Sunday; this gives tour attendees the opportunity to visit more than one area over the weekend. The other three areas are scheduled for Saturday October 3. Descriptions of each site are listed in the tour brochure (accessible from the website). Once an attendee registers then a link is emailed to them that provides the addresses to the sites.

There is a Central Site in Norfolk (Virginia Arts Festival Hixon Theater) that offers educational presentations and workshops throughout the day on Saturday October 3. The program is on page 7 of the tour brochure (accessible from the website). The focus of this tour is to educate the public on solar energy and green building practices. The cost of solar installations is coming down and reducing your energy bill can be a reality!
