This year, the Phoenix Art Group is sponsoring art shows featuring young artists from Gloucester County. All students in the public, private and homeschooled systems as well as the after school Art Enrichment Program at Botetourt and Bethel Elementary Schools and the Teen Mentoring Program are eligible.

The show will be on display from February 17th thru March 13th with an Awards Reception on Saturday March 14th from 1 to 2 pm. there will be a presentation of the “People’s Choice Award” of $25. Applications to enter this show are available at the new Parks and Recreation and Tourism Office, or Gloucester County Public Library near the rest rooms or at Gloucester Arts on Main, OR CLICK ON LINK ABOVE.

From the art submitted to this show, the Phoenix Art Group will select the art to illustrate the 2016 calendar created each year to raise money for scholarship support for a qualified senior from Gloucester County to help continue his/her art studies at the college level. If you are interested in this scholarship support – which is currently $1200 – the scholarship application forms are available at the Guidance Department of Gloucester High School or by contacting the Phoenix Art Group. Our 2015 calendar can still be purchased at Gloucester Arts on Main for an donation of $15 or more to the Phoenix Art Group.

The Phoenix Art Group will also be sponsoring an art show for the Teen Mentoring Program later this year. This is a unique program, administrated by Gloucester Arts on Main, pairing artists with aspiring art students in a one-on-one situation which allows them to rapidly develop a sense of their individuality in society as well as open creative avenues for their expression.
