If you’ve never attended a Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours Meeting, or it’s been a long time since you have attended one, you might just be wondering if they are worth your time.
Business After Hours meetings are most certainly worth your time and are of value in many ways.
What is Business After Hours?
Business After Hours is a social/networking event held eight times a year on the third Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. BAH provides you the opportunity to visit a host business and network with other Chamber members. At Business After Hours you will have the chance to introduce yourself to other members, exchange business cards, make new business contacts, win a door prize and enjoy tasty refreshments.
Do I have to stay the whole time?
No, you are free to come and go as you please. This offers networking opportunities to everyone no matter what their busy schedule may be that month. Come at 5:30 and plan to stay for a half hour or come at 6:00 and stay just a few minutes. We understand that everyone has families and commitments to attend to, but, just a few minutes at a Business After Hours may mean a new business opportunity for you.
I don’t really know anyone with the Chamber, am I going to feel out of place?
Chances are you will run into someone you do know. If not, the executive director or one of the board members can introduce you to a variety of members. When you come to the Business After Hours you will be given a name tag, it is always best to write your name and business on the tag. Your name tag will often times be the conversation starter.
Who’s invited?
Your Chamber of Commerce membership lists your company as a member, therefore, anyone employed with your company is invited to attend Business After Hours. Just RSVP by clicking the link below to register you and any guests you might want to bring along.
Do I need to bring anything?
All you need to bring are your Business Cards. You will need one for the door prize drawing and a few to give out to potential customers/clients.
Business After Hours events are free events, sponsored by a Chamber member. Other businesses will donate door prizes for attendees, and we always hold a 50/50 raffle beginning with a $5 donation.
What is the proper attire?
Since everyone is coming from work, you will see everything from causal wear to suits and ties. We want you to feel comfortable. Some Business After Hours are more casual than others according to the host. If you have questions about proper attire, feel free to contact executive director Makalia Records or any board member.
This month’s Business After Hours is co-sponsored by the Comfort Inn and Hampton Inn of Gloucester and will take place in the main lobby of the Hampton Inn. We look forward to seeing you Thursday evening at 5:30.
