Have you seen the three new additions along Gloucester Main Street for the Gloucester Arts Festival?!

How could you miss them, as they are LIFE-SIZE works of art! Although, we admit, they look so real at first glance, you might not have realized they were sculptures by the internationally-renowned Seward Johnson.

Johnson’s sculptures have been turning heads and creating conversations for nearly fifty years. Over four hundred of Seward Johnson’s bronze figures have been featured in museums around the world, as well as in private collections. Johnson’s most iconic work is titled “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER” in which a Navy sailor embraces a nurse at the end of World War II.

There is a businessman reviewing documents from his opened briefcase placed in front of the Coca-Cola Building, entitled DOUBLE CHECK.   #doublecheck 

Be careful to not misbehave in front of Olivia’s in the Village, or the police officer may write you a ticket, entitled TIME’S UP.                                   #timesup 

Down by the former Suntrust bank building, you can sit a spell while a lady writes her “To Do” list, entitled THINGS TO DO.                                   #thingstodo  

We are so very grateful that the Cook Foundation made it possible for these three magnificent pieces to be on display along Gloucester Main Street.
