Did you know that socks are the least donated items to most homeless shelters?

Every night in the United States, an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets.

This October, the Riverside Sanders Retirement Community wants to prove that even a small act of love, such as donating a pair of socks, can make big difference in the lives of our neighbors.

SOCKTOBER-FEST!

Sanders Retirement Community will be collecting socks for Avalon Center: working to end domestic and sexual violence, formerly the Laurel Shelter, throughout October.

If you have socks to donate, please bring them by our rehabilitation building (the brick building with the canopy just off of Main Street) and drop them off in our collection box.

Questions? Contact Kelly Marderosian at 804-693-2000 x 2808.

Even a small act of kindness, and one pair of socks, can make a difference.
