The Gloucester Main Street Association (GMSA) is gearing up for the seasonal opening of the Summer Nights Market on June 4th. The market will be back in action with Gloucester’s freshest fruits and vegetables, live music and activities to entertain patrons all summer long. The market will operate on Wednesday evenings from 4:30-7:00pm. “We’re very excited for the reopening of our Summer Nights Market,” said Ashley Gilmartin, Director of the GMSA. “We have some very exciting events planned and we hope to make this the best year yet.” The Summer Nights Market will run through August 27th and will be open every Wednesday, from 4:30-7:00pm, at the Carriage Court Lawn behind the Gloucester Museum of History (rain or shine.) Parking is available at Carriage Court and along Main Street. The entire Gloucester community is invited to join in the market kick-off festivities, which include live music by Nate Sparks with Rockabilly Weekend.

Summer Nights Market

In addition to being a certified farmers’ market, the Summer Nights Market is a weekly event series. With the help of local businesses and nonprofits, the GMSA is able to host larger events at this year’s market. Look forward to market highlights such as a “Live Life Stronger” event with Tidewater Performance/Tidewater Physical Therapy, Carnival Night and Fiesta Night, both hosted by the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce, and “Celebrate Art” featuring the Chrysler Museum’s mobile glass exhibit presented by the Cook Foundation. “The Gloucester Main Street Association sincerely appreciates the support and collaboration with local businesses and nonprofits that allow us to make the Summer Nights Market so much more than just a market for our community.”

Live music is also an important feature of the market. Music scheduled for the season includes: Paige Melton, the Hark, Something Different, Mercy Creek, Stones Throw, the Americana Lovebirds, Borderlands, and more. “We want to make Main Street a mid-week destination for families.” While on Main Street, market goers are encouraged to browse a wide variety of unique shops with extended hours on Wednesday nights or dine at one of the village’s wonderful restaurants.

The Gloucester Main Street Association is looking forward to another year of this wonderful event that brings together local producers, Gloucester business and community members to historic Gloucester Main Street every Wednesday evening from June 4th to August 27th.
