One of the independent school’s signature fundraising events, the tournament will support academic programs, scholarships and financial assistance for current students.

Ware Academy will host its 13th Annual Ware Academy Golf Tournament Friday, June 12th at the Indian Creek Yacht & Country Club in Kilmarnock.

The 2015 Ware Academy Golf Tournament is presented by Premier Tournament Sponsors, Rappahannock Concrete, Revere Gas & Appliance, and Gunn’s Body Shop.  “ The golf tournament is one of our signature fundraising events of the year,” said Ginger James, Ware Academy’s Director of Admissions and Special Events. “The funds raised at our golf tournament both in sponsorships and in registration, assist with academic programs, scholarships and tuition assistance. Ware Academy’s goal this year is to raise $29,000.  Last year, the 2014 event raised just over $24,000.”

This year’s sold out event has a total of 27 teams registered to play and all hope to enjoy a day on the links at the private, membership only club on Indian Creek.

Tournament check-in begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon. Captain’s Choice format and Stableford Scoring rules apply. Featured events throughout the tournament include Beat the Pro, Hole-In-One, 50/50 Raffle, Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin.
