The event is free and open to the public. The first game starts at 11 a.m. with athletes participating from three from across the state – Ware Academy, Steward School, and Walsingham Academy.

“The goal of the Ware Academy Lacrosse Invitational is not just to promote lacrosse, but to also bring together regional teams and the community for a day of positive sportsmanship,” said Ware Academy’s Head of School, Thomas L. Thomas, III. “We’d like to invite anyone for the community to come out and support these athletes.”

The girls’ teams will use the event to raise awareness of and money for breast cancer research. The girls’ portion of the invitational is officially titled a “Cradle for a Cure” with players wearing pink to raise awareness of cancer and to raise funds to donate.

Concessions will be available for purchase throughout the day as a fundraiser by the Ware Academy Parents Association.

“This has been a tremendous event for everyone involved over the past seven years,” Thomas said, “and we are looking forward to another great day of lacrosse this year for our students, families and the community.”
