Retail Alliance announced the winners for this year’s Retailer of the Year Awards (ROTYs) at a masquerade themed awards celebration on Thursday, May 19th at The American Theatre in Phoebus.

Gloucester-based, small business, Yolanda’s, received the overall winner’s award. They were selected from 92 nominees from across the Greater Hampton Roads region (up to Williamsburg).

They receive the prestigious title of Retailer of the Year, a banner to hang outside their store, a trophy to display, and a media prize package. Winners of each category receive a trophy and banner.

Peninsula winners:
Service Category Winner: N2 Eyes Optometry
Restaurant Category Winner: Love in a Cup Frozen Yogurt Bar
Up & Comer Award Winner: Backyard Birder Seed & Supply
Retail Category Winner: Dominion Floor Covering

Local Voice LOVEVA Award Winner (NEW award voted on by consumers): A.Dodson’s

In addition to retail winners, Retail Alliance recognized outstanding Associate Members from Hampton Roads. This award is given to two associate members, one from the Peninsula and one the Southside, who have shown support and commitment to the overall well-being of our retail members as well as Retail Alliance. The two winners were:

Associate Winner Southside: Interstate Cash Register
Associate Winner Peninsula: Virginia Peninsula Photography

Retail Alliance also awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award to a retailer that has shown attributes such as longevity, community involvement and reputation, among other things. This award was presented to Decorum Furniture, based in Norfolk.
